Gir. I was going to try and hook mine up and install it. But...I didn't. I also am going to draw Cetanu's weaponry first, 'cause when I tried to draw his mask and face, it came out like JUNK!!!

i looks very good purebread, now im a profectional artist (no joke nor braig i do ceramics, painting, scetches, animation and ect) and i think you have a good view on drawing, ill tell you some things that may hopefully help.
Good, you know how to make things look like theyre actualy moving, alive to say. the part i like about the alien is the colouring without taking away the details of your picture..
Bad, well, you lack shading (as said by Cetanu) and some parts of the body are not in line and look 'mutated' (as said by my crule art teacher who says thing like that when i screw up) the hands on the first alien look very..... 'fragile' as they have thin fingers and a tiny palm. I LOVE the face-hugger, it's better than most of my attempts. anyways, look-up pictures of what your drawing because i have a figure of a AVP predalien and it looks almost nothing like it (not being insulting) and the predalien lacks detail.
Tips,
1.learn how to shade BUT DO THIS AFTER COMPLETING PICTURE,
2. draw lightly at first and then add the proper lines on later so you get the positioning you whant.
3. draw the body in 'shapes' at first very lightly, this will help with the proportion size of the limbs of your picture.
4. be sure to add veriety, add a back-ground or even draw another picutre al-together to practice your skills.
5. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! practice drawing and dont allways do the same-thing over and over.
6. keep up the good work!

Just something with shading, I find that using a tortillion (blending stub) works better than my finger 'cause my finger doesn't allow to much variety of shading. The stub works so much better for me. Just in case you choose to persue this... And since it is said that the Aliens are based more or less on human figure, because of the costume, I think it would be okay to use human proportion. 1) 7 1/2 - 8 Head Lengths Tall (Aliens' heads are different so...used an egg shape I guess)
2) Fingertips always drop to the thighs.
3) Neck begins at cheeks and draw in slightly.
The fingers are very human with nails so for the palm you could draw a square and then the fingers could be small rectangles or cylinders. Which I just realized is why aliens could be so deadly, they have posable thumbs!!!
Arcadia, What is your feeling about practicing to draw. Do you think it is bad to draw something you see in a picture to get good and then conform it to other shapes, or do you think you should draw everything off the top of your head?

Line drawings are okay. Just say that they're line drawings, 'cause I assumed you were drawing with dimension ;-)

Shadow is cast by lighting, shading is the thing that makes the picture have dimension. I think...makes sense, right?

No offense meant by this, I thought it was comical myself... The alien's pose, it struck me as though it were saying "Oh no you didn't, girlfriend..." No offense, better capture of detail and improvement from last time.

I know I couldn't get the arm right so I left it like that and I think it looks like he's saying: "HALT!" or "STOP!" Lol. What do you think of Frost?
