A L (I) E N S: The Earth War
Somewhere in Chile, a man was driving down a dirt path in an old Pickup truck relic. He had run out to prepare for his dinner tomorrow. Family was supposed to be coming. He turned out of the small forest and hit a farm. He pulled up to the side of his house, a smile on his face. Everything was the same. Same old same old. He jumped down from the Driver's seat and called for his dog.
"Skipper! Skipper, here boy!" The man shouted and whistled but no dog came. This was unusual. He walked around to the back of his pickup truck and gathered up his groceries and approached his door... it was wide open.
He straightened. He'd locked the door. He set his groceries down by the door, got to a crouch, and made his way back to his truck. He opened the big box in the back and pulled out a sleek and shiny shotgun.. he rubbed it's barrel before he popped in a case. 20 bullets. He cocked it.
Now his attention turned back to the door. He looked and noticed it was cracked now. He quickly ran and hit the wall. His days in the corps didn't just teach him how to fire a rifle. He grabbed the knob, slowly opening the door, he put his shotgun in front of him, and aimed around his kitchen. Nothing.
He set his shotgun down and brought the groceries in, but started to hear a fascinating hum. From down the hallway. In his bedroom. He picked up his shotgun once more, and started towards the hallway.
He was now there, but there were no lights. Just candle-light coming from his room. He held his shotgun down, but had his finger ready on the trigger.
"The true messiah.." He walked quietly and gently closer, shadows illuminated on his wall by the candle-light.
"Be one..." He was practically at the door, he peered inside and saw four Robed men. And they were all circled around his dog! His room was trashed and a mess. He couldn't stand it anymore. He rolled into the candle-light and hit the first robed man. he fell out the window, a thump after hitting the ground a few feet below. The glass came falling down into his room, and the Robed men stood up and kept chanting.
"This is my house! Get out!" The man yelled at them. he shot another one of them, blowing their arm off. They hit the ground immediately. He cocked it. The third tried to grab his shotgun, but he managed to hit the Robed person with the butt of it. This time, he managed to cock the stock and aimed again. This one hit the person right in the chest. The last Robed figure hit the wall, holding his wound as the man bent down to see his dog.
The dog's chest was ripped wide open.
"What the hell did you do to my dog?" He asked. The Robed figure started to laugh, even with his wound.
"I.. know that of.. which.. you lack.." The Robed man chanted. A small hiss came from inside the house. The man completely turned his attention away from the Robed Figure. The Cultist pounced and put his arms under the man's armpit. They struggled for a moment.
"Let me go you f**k-head! Or else you are dead!" The man shouted. This made the Cultist scoff.
"I'm already... dying.. But you... you can still join..." He said. He threw the man into the hallway with his shotgun and locked the door. The Cultist started chanting once more.
At the end of the hallway was a Reptilian, no, Insect! It had a long and sleek banana-head and small slender arms that held fierce talons. It got up from all fours and rose up to full height, still looking small because of the low ceiling. It's head turned to the man, and opened a mouth to reveal a second, smaller jaw. It opened and closed at him as it hissed. It's eyeless face turned the man to stone.
"I know.. of your.. in..completeness.." The chanting grew louder.
The Insectoid took one step towards him, drooling at the mouth. He panicked, his face in total disbelief. He looked left and right, then to his shotgun. It came closer, ever louder as it's clawed hands hit the walls. He tried to cocked it and aimed once more.
"You are one ugly mother f**ker!" The Farmer yelled, he fired. A click came, and he fell back down on the floor, dropping the shotgun. It was empty!
The insectoid reached for him.
"The True Messiah!" The chanting rose to a high tempo. It picked him up by his shoulders, and pushed him against the wall, where it's mouth opened.
"The True Messiah will join with you!" It sent it's smaller jaws right into his forehead. Blood spattered everywhere, the man totally out of his mind now. He was dead.
"Be one with us!" The chanting stopped, and the insectoid dropped the man, now a gaping hole in his head. It's slimy head slowly inched towards the door, where it growled. It pounded on the door. The Cultist inside took his robe off and smiled.
"It is time." He said. He jumped out of the window just as the door was thrown across the room by the creature. It took a long look at the dead bodies, and then followed the Cultist.
He rounded to the barn and opened the barn's doors. There was a giant hole in the ground. The hole was covered in slimy webbing and of the such, had fumes seeping out of it. The Cultist stepped inside, and held out his arms.
In the shadows, a loud bellow was heard, but small spider-like thing emerged. It was flying through the air, it's rod extended.
It hit the man square on his face. The terror now hit the man. But it was too late to turn back. It's skinny, bony tail wrapped around his neck, constricting him. He couldn't breathe, he collapsed...
